The Wedding Network | Sky High Glamour Styled Shoot | Aloft Perth Rooftop | 8 August 2017 {Perth Wedding & Event Photographer}

I really should have blogged this beautiful shoot long ago, but you know how it is, work and life get busy, and before you know it, another year has passed (I know, I know!).  But with my wedding season kicking off again next weekend, and the anniversary of this shoot falling right about now, I thought today would be as good as any to share it with you!

Held on the rooftop at Aloft Perth, one of the cities newest hotels, and overlooking the Swan River, we had the perfect venue for a stylish and sophisticated urban shoot, to showcase the work of a number of Perth's top wedding vendors for The Wedding Network.  Although being August, and being on the rooftop of a hotel, it was pretty damn windy - but it's amazing what you can do with a wad of blu-tac and a number of hands to hold things down between shots!

And that light, we really couldn't have been blessed with more beautiful Winter light.  It reflected the soft pink tones of the styling, and picked up the eastern sky at dusk beautifully.  All cred to the amazing creatives who took part, for both their vision and the hard work that went into pulling such a beautiful styled shoot together on the day.

It was a pleasure to be able to record it for you, and I think the results speak for themselves.

The Wedding Network (co-ordination), Lace Petals and Hearts (stylist), Aloft Perth (venue), Event Artillery (furniture), A La Table (tableware), Synapse Event Lighting (lighting), Floral State (flowers), Bridal Select Cakes (cake), Hair For All Occasions (hair styling), Renata Jonev Makeup Artistry (makeup artist), Squiddly Ink (place cards), Creative Edge Weddings (crystals and geod rocks), Through The White Door (gowns), Linneys (jewellery), Chiara Fragomeni (model)

Jimmy + Ash | Slater Homestead Goomalling | 12 August 2017 {Avon Valley & Wheatbelt Wedding Photographer}

It was a dark and overcast Winter day for Jimmy and Ash's wedding, held at the beautifully restored Slater Homestead in Goomalling, WA.

Built in 1856, this delightfully refurbished set of stone buildings, which is owned and operated by the Shire of Goomalling, offers a unique and romantic wedding venue, right here in our beautiful Avon Valley region.  And Ash was quick to spot its potential, driving past it each week, as she commuted from Wyalkatchem to Perth for work!

So, surrounded by a small and intimate group of their closest family and friends, many of whom had flown in from Victoria, Jimmy and Ash tied the knot under the direction of celebrant Nola Chamberlain, and the cover of the homestead verandah, as the showers rolled through.

Wearing a stunning Aurelio Costarella gown, with hair and makeup by Wild Licorice Hair & Beauty, and Emma Denman, Ash looked radiant throughout both ceremony and the bridal party photo shoot that followed.  Using the landscaped grounds of Slater Homestead, and ducking for cover when necessary, we were then blessed with some beautiful rays of light when the sun broke through the clouds briefly, right on sunset.

Then it was into the barn for a warm and intimate dinner, to toast the newlyweds, and celebrate into the evening.  Congratulations Jimmy and Ash, and thank you so much for having me cover your special day.  It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of it with you all!

Paige | Family Portrait Photography | 18 May 2015 {Avon Valley Family Photographer}

I have been itching to find the time to blog this one, and already 6 months have flown past!  I loved everything about this session.

From the moment Paige's mum called me, I knew this was going to be a special shoot.  A 10th birthday present to her daughter.  Not an ipad, or any of the latest fads, but a photoshoot to mark that special day you hit double digits, and to celebrate the magic of childhood.

And a daughter who loves dolls and matchbox cars, vintage dresses and her amazing big brother, who wanted to incorporate all these things into her shoot.  Someone who wanted to style it with me.  Someone who had her own ideas and vision, and who was clearly excited about what might unfold.  And all at the age of 10 - what a dream client!

So at the end of Autumn, with the first cold Winter winds blowing in, we found ourselves an open grassy space, a railway line, some tin sheds, tracks and puddles just over the back of our place in Grass Valley, and this is what we came home with...
